Grants

Our goal is to support research that helps improve knowledge about factors that impact mental health in a built environment and ways to improve it.

Academic Research

We partner with renowned academics who study built environment and provide funding for their research. Our rigorous selection process enables us to identify suitable candidates for funding and issues that are of most importance.

The findings of the research are openly shared with the public and also used to influence improvements in the built environment.

The practical application of the findings would allow policy makers and market participants to use the research in their planning and decision making process whilst also benefiting people who are using the places for work and personal needs.

Research applications will be assessed in line with the following categories:

IMPACT

What research do the trustees believe will have the greatest impact on empowering people to improve the quality of the environment in urban setting

CONTRIBUTION TO EXISTING KNOWLEDGE

Improvements in the understanding and accuracy of determining the factors that influence the impact of built environment on people’s mental health

REAL OPPORTUNITIES

The topics which have the greatest opportunity to be turned into real world actions in terms of costs and practicality

GLOBALISATION

Can the research be used in different countries or is it culture specific, global impact being preferred

Impact measurement

  1. Individual impact of the research and contribution to all funded research by the Charity

  2. Measures for advancement of science by research

  3. Improvements in understanding and accuracy of determining the factors that influence mental health in living/work conditions

  4. Find executable factors that influence health in living/working conditions

  5. References by other researchers
